Pitlochry Festival Theatre - Autumn Winter Spring 2009- 2010 Season
From now until mid May 2010 the Pitlochry Festival Theatre continues to be a hive of activity, providing a programme of festival's and events that will draw audiences from across the UK and far beyond.

Pitlochry Festival Theatre - Summer Season 2010
The Pitlochry Festival Theatre offers an enriching experience for Summer 2010, some superb entertainment along  with lavish costumes, beautifully realised sets and thrilling performances from their talented and versatile acting company.

The flagship production will be Cole Porter’s musical comedy, Kiss Me, Kate along with Michael Frayn’s classic theatrical comedy, Noises Off; Oscar Wilde’s dangerous, witty and ever popular An Ideal Husband; and a riotous nautical comedy, Rough Crossing by Tom Stoppard. From across the pond, there’s a second slice of Americana in Bus Stop, William Inge’s bittersweet romance. And to complete this wide-ranging selection from around the world, there’s Zola’s Nana adapted by Olwen Wymark: sinful, scandalous and sexually charged!

Etape Caledonia

Etape Caledonia, Highland Perthshire - Pitlochry - Sunday 16th May 2010
Over 3000 cyclists are expected to descend upon Pitlochry when Britain's only closed-road cycle challenge - the Etape Caledonia - returns for a fourth year on Sunday 16th May 2010.

The Etape Caledonia offers ordinary cyclists the chance to race on closed roads in safety, and provides a stern but achievable challenge through some breathtaking Scottish scenery.

This year the 81-mile course will start and finish in Pitlochry, winding around Loch Rannoch and Loch Tummel, with a total ascent of 1,949m. Etape Caledonia is open to anyone between the ages of 18 and 80.

Atholl Highlanders Annual parade

Atholl Highlanders Annual parade - Blair Atholl - 29th May 2010
The very colorful Atholl Highlanders Annual Parade, with inspection by John Murray, 11th Duke of Atholl, will take place on the parade ground before Blair Castle at the end of May 2010. Accompanied by their Pipe Band, the Highlanders will open the proceedings with the traditional firing of their mountain gun, a ceremony guaranteed to start things with a 'bang'.

The Atholl Gathering & Highland Games

The Atholl Gathering & Highland Games - Blair Castle - 30th May 2010
The Atholl Gathering and Highland Games will take place at Target Park, Blair Castle, Blair Atholl, on Sunday 23rd May 2010 (tbc). The games will be opened by John Murray, 11th. Duke of Atholl, in the time honored way by beating his sword four times on his shield. There will then followed an afternoon of traditional heavyweight competitions and races including the Atholl Highlander's Race, run in full regimental regalia.

Blair Castle International Horse Trials

Blair Castle International Horse Trials - 26th Aug 2010 - 29th Aug 2010
One of the main events of the Horse Trials and Country Show is the Three Day Event which was originally intended to test the all-round ability of both the cavalryman and his military charger. Over the years it has evolved into three modern phases of the sport - dressage, cross-country and show jumping. In and around the arena in the grounds of Blair Castle, there is much more entertainment besides the international competition, including falconry, gun dogs and terrier racing, as well as a programme of children's activities such as climbing walls, outdoor play equipment, bouncy castles and mini quad bikes.

Harley Davidson - Thunder in the Glens Rally - 27th Aug 2010 - 30th Aug 2010

The Braemar Gathering - 4th September 2010

There have been Gatherings of one sort or another at Braemar for over nine hundred years. Large crowds have come each year to acclaim their Monarch as Chieftain of the Braemar Gathering. Always the first Saturday in September and only 39 miles from Pitlochry (1.5 hour drive), this is a must see event. Tickets sell out fast, see website below for details.

Pitlochry Highland Games - Saturday 11th September 2010 (TBC)
First held in September 1852 the Pitlochry Highland Games have been an annual event ever since. A traditional Highland Games with competitors coming from all over Scotland and further afield to participate.  A fantastic entertaining sporting event, the Pitlochry Highland Games takes place on Saturday 12th September 2009 at the Recreation Ground venue in Pitlochry, Perthshire.

Pitlochry Highland Night - Weekly Event - Every Monday from 7.45pm - May to September 2010
Follow the Pipers from Fishers Hotel at 7.30pm as they march to the Recreation Ground. Presented by the Vale of Atholl Pipe Band, Highland Night is an evening of traditional entertainment, full of Scottish Music and Dance. An outdoor production that is performed weekly during the summer months by local artists.. If it's raining the event switches to the Pitlochry Town Hall.

Pitlochry New Years Day Street Party - 1st Jaunary 2011
Pitlochry has a New Years Day street ceilidh,outsite of Fishers Hotel in the centre of town.
Everyone is welcome to this friendly shindig, bringing locals and visitors together for a ceilidh in the street on the first day of 2011.
