One of the main events of the Horse Trials and Country Show is the Three Day Event which was originally intended to test the all-round ability of both the cavalryman and his military charger.
Over the years it has evolved into three modern phases of the sport - dressage, cross-country and show jumping.
In and around the arena in the grounds of Blair Castle, there is much more entertainment besides the international competition, including falconry, gun dogs and terrier racing, as well as a programme of children's activities such as climbing walls, outdoor play equipment, bouncy castles and mini quad bikes.
